Actually, tell me why owns. It took me a few episodes to realize it, but it's a fun song in its own right (this is a taste thing obviously). And honestly, it does fit the series in a weird 90s way. Unless i'm parsing the lyrics incorrectly (very possible with just how engrish they are), the song does deal with the themes presented in the arc of the manga the show depicts.
Using forces or another more classically arranged piece as the OP might have given it a timeless feel (like legend of the galactic heroes), but i don't think the not-quite-grunge late 90s/early 00s rock of tell me why dating berserk is a bad thing. Berserk IS very 90s. It's got a huge guy literally named guts carrying a huge sword splitting dudes in two.
That huge guy also has a cannon for an arm because why not. It's got demons and sex too. Tell me why fits right in, as far as i'm concerned.
